Will solar panels save me money on my energy bills?

Do solar panels need to be on a south facing roof?
Not necessarily. While south facing roofs are ideal in the UK for maximum sunlight, east, west and north roofs still generate energy. Modern solar panels are highly efficient so even homes without the perfect orientation can see dramatic savings.
Do solar panels still produce electricity on cloudy days?
Yes – while output will be lower on cloudy days, solar panels produce electricity from solar radiation which still reaches the panels even on a cloudy day.
How long do solar systems last for?
Solar panels have a lifespan of approximately 25 years with minimal maintence and batteries have a lifespan of between 10 and 15 years (Source: Energy Saving Trust). Each manufacturer will have its own warrantys and these will be provided in your quote.
